Emily Harrison has a License of Social Work and holds a License of Clinical Addictions Specialist. Prior to completion of her graduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013, she provided mental health treatment to families and children for 5 years.
Within the last four years, she has actively enhanced her specialty with adults and adolescents struggling with emotion regulation, extreme thought patterns and explosive and unhelpful behaviors. In addition to helping reduce extreme behaviors, she aids individuals with identifying their emotions, processing through trauma (as appropriate) and creating strong and supportive relationships.
Emily is an intensively trained clinician in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as she provides individual and group services for individuals with a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder or reported/observed personality disorder symptoms. Due to her experience with DBT, there are options of engaging in the full DBT-model and DBT-modified treatment.
