KENNETH "KC" RAY
LCMHC, MAC, MAPC
Focusing on the impact of trauma, and utilizing EMDR therapy, CBT, and other evidence-based treatments, KC loves working with teens, adults, couples, and families of all shapes and sizes! Some of his specialties include substance abuse and addictions work, trauma healing, and managing depression and anxiety. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, KC is also passionate about serving the specific needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, and gender non-conforming individuals, couples, and families!
KC has been a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a nationally certified Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) for over 8 years in both North Carolina and Arizona, having received his Master’s Degree from Ottawa University in Phoenix, Arizona. KC also has over 20 years experience as a teacher, trainer, writer and educator, and taught addiction courses for several years to both graduate and undergraduate students as adjunct faculty with Ottawa University.
When offering support for parents, in addition to his training as a psychotherapist, KC's experiences as a father of two teenagers also provide him with insight into the joys and challenges of parenting.
KC is bilingual, and speaks fluent Polish, having lived several years in the beautiful country of Poland. His love for travel, his special interest in film, theatre, music, literature, and art, and his background in teaching and the performing arts informs his counseling in rich and interesting ways!
